Greetings!

Folsom Cordova Unified School District's Special Education Department invites you to our SELPA and Community Advisory Committee (CAC) presentation on an alternative pathway to a high school diploma for students with significant cognitive disabilities. The event will take place on Wednesday, September 18, 2024, at 5:30 p.m. The speaker will discuss how qualified students with significant cognitive disabilities can earn a regular high school diploma while continuing to receive special education programs and related services until the age of 22.

Participants will receive information on student eligibility, course requirements, and guidance for meaningful participation in the process of pursuing this alternative pathway to a diploma. This training is open to families of students of all ages and the public, and there is no cost to attend.

Following the presentation, we will hold our Community Advisory Committee business meeting to approve new CAC members and provide updates on the Adapted Toy project and the Wonderland event.

The meeting and presentation will be available both in person and virtually. The in-person event will take place at the Folsom Cordova Unified School District Education Services Center, located at 1965 Birkmont Drive, Rancho Cordova.
