PBIS Silver Award 2025

 

Congratulations! Cordova Gardens Academy of Arts and Sciences has received a PBIS Implementation Award for the 25-26 school year.  PBIS awards are incentives given to students for exhibiting positive behavior.   

Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) is a framework that aims to create safe and effective learning environments for students. It's an evidence-based practice that supports students' social, emotional, academic, and behavioral needs. 

PBIS is based on eight core components, including:

  • Clarifying expected behaviors
  • Teaching expected behaviors
  • Encouraging expected behaviors
  • Discouraging unwanted behaviors
  • Ongoing monitoring
  • Effective classroom practices 

 PBIS has three core values:

  • Be Respectful, 
  • Be Responsible
  • Be Safe
